The box office performance of Pathaan 3 other Bollywood films and KGF Chapter 2 and other Hindi dubbed versions of South Indian films after the end of the Covid era
The covid-19 pandemic caused a drastic shift in people’s preferred methods of entertainment consumption. As a result, Bollywood took a major hit, and the popularity of Hindi dubs of South Indian films skyrocketed. Now that the Covide era has passed, let’s have some fun by comparing the box office success of Hindi dubbed South Indian films to that of their Bollywood counterparts. There’s the 500-crore monster that is Pathaan, and then there’s the juggernaut that is KGF Chapter 2!
Before we get started, it’s important to note that we’ll only be considering movies that have been rated as a Hit, Super-Hit, or Super-Duper Hit according to Koimoi’s box office standards. Bollywood and the Hindi dubbed versions of South Indian films (including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam) will be mentioned individually before the collections are combined for a comparison.
The resulting list contained five films from the South that had better reviews and performed better at the Indian box office. The Hindi version of Pushpa made a total of 106 crores during its lifetime. The box office take for “Karthikeya 2” in Hindi was Rs 30 crores. With final lifetimes of 434.62 and 277 crores for KGF Chapter 2 and RRR, respectively, the Hindi dubbed versions were huge financial successes. The list concludes with Kantara (Hindi), which made 81.10 crores. Total revenue is currently 928.72 crores.

In Bollywood, we find four films with positive reviews. Bollywood hasn’t had a smashing success like The Kashmir Files since before Covid. The profit was Rs 252.50 million. In terms of box office success, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 earned 185.57 crores while Drishyam 2 made 241 crores. Earning a whopping 543.22 crores, Pathaan was a box office phenomenon. Bollywood has earned a total of 1222.29 crores.
There is no doubt that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan gave Bollywood a much-needed boost against the onslaught of South dubbed films.
